New Year Conferences

New Year Conferences: To introduce the year 2010, the long established tradition of New Year Conferences and related meetings has again been continued throughout the country. Over 2 or 3 days, in locations from Aberdeen in the north east, through Fife, the Lothians and Lanarkshire, and into Ayrshire in the south west,  a good variety of wholesome ministry was given by many of God's servants from far and near. Attendances were very good overall although well above average amounts of snow and well below average temperatures created real difficulties for travel, the worst for many years. Some 2 hour journeys took over 4 hours to complete on treacherously icy surfaces, but in the goodness of God no serious accidents were reported. Some invited speakers could not travel at all to reach their conferences on 1st and 2nd January, but others were able to take their places at short notice. The Lord blessed His Word at these seasonal occasions of fellowship and gave encouragement for His people.

Barrhead gospel meetings
Renfrewshire
The assembly at Chappell Street invited Stephen Grant to conduct a series of gospel meetings in June. There was good support from other assemblies in Renfrewshire. The assembly was encouraged by the attendance of some from the town who must have been challenged by the powerful messages delivered each night. The gospel was also brought before the town in the many invitations distributed before and during the meetings. We pray that we shall yet see fruit from the seed sown.
